Zetec Turbo - Thermostat and Piping / Hosing Options
Thought I would create a seperate post for this as it would made the turbo one even more of a mare to read!
Basically I have Zetec Turbo just about ready to go in the car and I am torn with the best solution to go for regaring Thermostat housing options.
From what I understand:
Retain the Zetec Housing:
Pros:
- Came as standard
- No need for an adaptor
Cons:
- Silicon hose options are poor, Lots of pipework mods required to make fit??
- The old Temperature sender from the CVH needs an earth ran
- I have heard that they can air lock as there is no built in swirl pot?
- Made of Plastic
Retain the CVH Housing and use an adaptor:
Pros:
- Hoses are a lot easier to come accross and line up as they are the same as what came off
- The temperature sender screws straight into the metal adaptor
- Has a swirl pot in the housing ??
Cons:
- Doesn't look that great
- Requires the purchase of an adaptor
What really is the best option to go for in peoples opinions? Is there a lot of hose changes required to go Zetec Housing and does the CVH one have a Swirl Pot in it right enough?
I ideally want to buy some Silicon hoses too so the CVH stat and pipework sounds the easiest at the moment but looking for other peoples opinion on this best option to go for practically as well as performance.
