You won't need pistons and rods.

I'd say about £400ish for the engine but then you'll need some sort of management to run it.

So a grand will prob get you a silly quick 280bhp zetec. Great fun and cheap as.

If you were not confident on doing certain jobs (drilling the block or welding etc) then you could always just drop into a local garage or engineering firm and ask them to do it as a little side job.
