So I've been having a nightmare with my mk6 revving its knackers off when idling and i've traced it down to a split hose that can be seen in the left of this picture (ignore the annotation, I pinched the picture from a forum post):

It seems to be a breather from the block to the inlet manifold, but it doesn't seem to want to pull off. Does anyone know if it's just a push fit or is it actually attached somehow?
