I came up to see my kids in Glasgow this week and after the first night staying at my eldests flat I came down to this::



Even though it's just my daily driver, it held it's own at Ford Fair on our ProjectPuma stand last weekend looking lovely after I machined it / menzerna / EXP:



I've had a bit of a look at it now (was that pee'd off that I couldn't bring myself to look at it yesterday) and I don't think it's gone through the lacquer to the base coat.

If that's the case - as I see it I have 2 options..

• Machine polish the scratches out as much as possible using a harsh to fine process. But this may take some time I know and end up with an incredibly thin clear coat.
  
• Wet sand it out. Now I've not tried this before but I get the idea. If the scratches are nearly as deep as the paint through the lacquer, would it be a good idea to "overspray" the current scratches with a decent lacquer then wet sand that down to a common thickness with the scratches filed up with the new lacquer?

Or would it be easier to either:

• Get a smart repairer out to rub down and spray the effected area
  
• Just bite the bullet and get the whole lot resprayed.

Any advice would be greatly received as well as any recommendations of someone that might be able to help (professionally or otherwise) in or around the Northants / Leics area.
