Hope you don't mind a newbie posting for help!

Basically I have a 07 Focus 1.8 TDCI 1.8 which needs the head skimmed. So i have got the head of and hat it all timed and locked at TDC. So cylinders 1&4 are at top of block. Upon looking at the head, it needs a proper clean and probably the valves reseating looking at all the carbon build up. Now i was going to attempt this myself but i have one concern. upon looking at the head, the two centre valves are protruding a little, is this normal?

Also, if i remove the camshaft (locking tool still in situ), how will i retime the vavles/camshaft? Will it just be a case of refitting the camshaft in the same position and the valves will go back to as they are?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for head skimming/refurb in the Reading area, i have been looking at CFM Engineering if any one has used/heard of them.

Thanks guys
If you remove the cam shaft the valves should then all be closed, when you refit the cam the tool to lock it should only fit 1 way so you can't get the position wrong.
