Hi all,

Looking for a t3 turbo for my metro turbo engine build, and have seen a few but they are described as having shaft play. Now I know if the shaft has play side to side (looking at it from the end) and it touches the housing it's scrap. But how much back and fourth is acceptable? Is there any tolerance for this or is a little OK?

And if I get the turbo, I'd like for it to be freshened up, so was wondering if there are any people out there who come recomended, or can I do it? As I'm sure between me and my dad, if it doesn't require specialist expensive tools we might be able to do it ourselves maybe? Or best left to the pros who have the right tools and ways to measure the tolerances etc? DO garrett have any departments who will refurb their old turbos?
