So i have the ESP light permanently on and the error code C1288 read with a code reader. I am well away of how common this problem is and how much the dealership try to charge.

I would like to know which route to go down in terms of risk / likely outcome / potensial problems.

A, remove the ABS pump module and send to ECU testing for repair, around £200 and between 2-5 days turn around

B, purchase the ABS modulator unit which is around £180 and just swap them over.

I cant decide which would be less risky and would like a few opinions if possible.
