Yes the fuel tank has a breather, i have blown down it and it clear.
Its a standard 044, is not the check valve on the high pressure side.
The pump is new aswell.

I doubt it, has your fuel tank got a good breather? If not that may be were the vacuum is coming from, have you got the standard bosch 044 check valve fitted? Could always try replacing that?
