Right I can't make sens of this from what iv been reading,

My car is fully running,
If I pick up a 2l zetec and add the correct modifications can I bolt my inlet and exhaust back on and get the car to run?
Or is there other things that require changing aswell,
I'm unsure wether to got the zetec route, if I can use standard management for now then I will then go for upgrade at a later date,
