Finally sorted, previous owner removed the fuse for the headlight washers. so I replaced that, to find only the drivers side worked, so I had read a a while ago sterilising fluid in the washer bottle cleans out the jets, so I filled the washer bottle with warm water and the fluid, and now works perfectly.

Think its been the cheapest fix I have ever had on any of my cars, a total of £1.30 to get them working again.
