I would far rather have a range extended EV than a sole electric vehicle. Every customer i speak to has range anxiety with their sole electric vehicle, which is silly putting yourself in that situation.
Yes extended range....but the fact remains it cannot travel more than about 30 miles without the use of petrol.

By any "electric" vehicle standards, that has to be considered exceptionally poor.

The whole point of an electric vehicle is supposed to be that you dont need fossil fuel onboard
