F super is showing error p0500 speed sensor A for my mk4 fiesta.

I thought the sensor was supposed to be at the back of the gear box but GSF parts seem to think its an abs / speed sensor.
I'm fairly certain my car doesn't even have ABS anyway - it certainly didn't kick in when I slammed my anchors on to avoid going head on with some muppet overtaking.
