Hi,
New to this forum, and have found previous forums a wealth of knowledge with my past cars.
I've been having troubles starting the car. I have spoken to my local garage and they seem to 'think' it could be the injectors. Rather than taking the plunge and paying out for the injectors hoping that is the problem, I'd rather get some other opinions. Here is a video
( excuse the wife midway through!!!)
Basically, the car takes quite a few turns to get it started, if at all. Last week it flattened the battery before it started. Once running, the car runs just fine, as good as it always has, no loss of power, no revs dipping, no stalling. This makes me think it isn't injector related.
I have combed the internet the past few weeks or a diagnosis.
I have changed the cam position sensor. Checked all the relays. And ran some injector cleaner through the system just incase. I don't think there is any air in the fuel system. The only thing I'm yet to check, which, I have found out could be the cause is the fuel filter. The timing seems to be fine as it runs just great when it gets going. My mechanic checked the glow plugs, and said they are fine.starter is recently new (1 year or so old)
It doesn't matter whether it is a cold start, or whether it's been running for 2 hours, the starting process is the same.
To me, it sounds like it is not getting enough fuel to start. But why?!?!? Does anyone have any other ideas or experiences with this problem? Any help will be much appreciated
