Default rs keeps going lean on the co 0.6%

Hello

My car is MFI, has been set up a few times and every time i fixed a leak and changed a gasket etc the mixture went rich, i knew this because the fuel economy went terrible. Now all the leaks seals etc were sorted and been setup by Jano who's done a great job.

Went to a garage the other day to see if all was ok on the emissions tester and it read 0.6% Co. So it has dropped. It was set at 2.7% by Jano

It still drives fine, the spark plugs were white, really white when i took them all out to look at.

Ive looked at some old MOT's from previous owners that came with the car, it says the same figure 0.6%

Whats causing this to happen? first it would go rich using all my fuel, now its great on fuel i.e. 290 miles on a fuel tank. The haynes manual says 0.6% - 1.1%

Totally standard car, no mods, normal psi, all original. set up by Jano who knows the car well.

Is the metering unit doing its own thing, could it be the fuel pump not pressurising.
