Default cat A/B write-off

looking around the net tonight, i found this statement on the RAC forum from an RAC tech guy, is this something to worry about

"The Aston Workshop can rebuild the cars that are classed as Cat A and they and the factory are the only ones as far as I know who are authorised to do this. Because they are hand built they can be put back on the road.
And Mr Bean's McClaren was a complete write off but has been rebuilt for a million pounds."
