I don't understand all these threads about converting from 4x4 to rwd ?

I understand if the gearboxes are breaking and sick of changing them but surely it wouldn't be much more money to just fit a skyline box ?

and if there running enough power to break a 4x4 box why sacrifice all the launch grip you gain and go back to rwd I don't get it at all ?
