think it was 5th gear that did a test on budget vs cheap vs second hand tyres and the resluts were VERY strange

dry braking the posh tyres stopped way better, but in the wet, the cheaper tyres stopped a bus length sooner and even the part worns were better based on the fact that the eco tyres have less rolling risitance to make them easier to spin and use less fuel/enegry
