As far as I'm aware no it's a standard flywheel.

It's just ticked over 160k so not impossible that it needs the clutch replacing, but this wasn't the classic symptom of a worn clutch or a failed slave cylinder. Would like to have some sort of idea what's happening before randomly replacing parts at not insignificant expense. Bit of an odd one!
