I have had the Egr valve off and cleaned it. The valve seamed to move more freely and I re-installed with a new gasket. The exhaust still smokes.

I have also removed swirl plates and sealed hole, cleaned MAF sensor, cleaned PCV valve and oil separator. There was oil in the inlet manifold initially which I cleaned out.

I have been putting off doing the oil rings until now but have now got the head off and new rings ready to install.

Just looking at ways to support the block while I take the sump off.
