I would love to see what WRC engines "really" produce! A close friend had a group A Tommy fields engine that ran at 312 bhp and 480lb/foot but I've heard of some WRC Cosworth engines at 335bhp and 560 torques.
Can anyone one comment, especially on the last of the 2ltr WRC focus engine's.
I've seen in the past modern (well, well under 10 years old) WRC car dyno figures showing well over the supposed 300bhp, a couple just over 400bhp mark (at ridiculously low revs, as you'd expect from a car with an inlet restrictor), and around 500-520lbft.
The problem with numbers, and graphs, is it's all too easy to twiddle a few knobs and get whatever number you like, so you always got to wonder, and for WRC etc they generally won't ever admit to having more power than they should.
Tbh this is why I was interested most in seeing graphs, as it gives a better impression of the powerband, even if the numbers are a bit out.
