Ok so decided to do a full engine freshen up, peace of mind then knowing everything is done properly.... especially seeing some of the other shoddy workmanship on the car. I would love to have an engine built for me but know this is well out of my reach at least for another couple of years.

I already have a Protech high flow oil pump, I also decided to future proof the engine and got some new standard pistons with valve cut outs.

I already have 6 WRC long studs so will only replace these if needed. The head has been gas flowed already so at the very least I will have this reconditioned and am thinking of getting a little porting done.

So now I have left to order full gasket set including new WRC head gasket, new bearing shells, 4 standard head bolts, double valve springs and a few other bits and bobs.

Will get everything re-lightened and balanced, crank checked, bores checked and honed.

I have looked into getting the con rods shot peened but think this is a waste of time with the power I would ever run out of that engine, cosworth rods are strong enough without getting that work done, unless anyone would disagree with that lol.

At what stage/ milage would you think its worth putting new valves in, a few places I have spoken to reface the vavles and refit them with new 3 angle seats???
