Was hoping someone would be able to help me here!

I'm putting my engine back together and noticed that i have a gasket which is supposed to sit between the block and the PAS bracket.

Now, does anyone know if there's supposed to be a gasket here? In the workshop manual it mentions just to use gasket sealer and NOT a gasket, however i've been supplied one?

Could anyone advise please?
