Evening all

Been looking for a new car for the wife for a little while now, and a Focus 1.6 tdci had popped up locally, 56 plate, 76k on the clock with full history.

Done a lot of research on them and they seem to be the worst of the bunch, with oil sludging, injector leaks and turbo failure problems. Is this the case for all of them, or is it just something that can happen due to poor maintenance? There are a lot of them out there, so not sure weather the problems you hear of are actually rare, it's just the volume of them on the road that makes it seem common.
