If HID kits are retrofitted into projector lamp units they can work fine without dazzle. Problem is stupid people buy kits and sling them in cars with normal reflector lamp units and those are the people that piss everybody off and cause the complaints.

I have a set on my A4 and never had a problem or been flashed despit doing about 40k miles since fitting.
