These are shitty horrible Peugeot engines, they are a nightmare for faults like this. I'd be checking for wiring faults, or split/leaking vacuum pipes etc.

Of course they have been paid for...and there is no turning back. Wiring has been checked (presumably) and no faults have been found. As far as I know there are no vacuum pipes associated with the EGR system.
