215/40/17 or 215/45/17 no problem on a 7" but its the wheel offset you need to be careful with.
Changed from 205/40/17 on a 7" to 215/40/17 on a 7 1/2" and found the car had much more grip. Want to go 8 or 8 1/2" if I can find wheels.
