Default removing speed limiter and warantee?

Long story short I have been given a van for work but the poxy thing has an optional dealer fitted speed limiter done through the ecu which limits it to 56mph on the speedo which on my GPS is just 52mph. After 2 days of heading along dual carriageways and motorways having irate truck drivers sitting on my chuff I'm a bit miffed.

I asked on the manufacturers forum if the readily availble software would be able to remove it. The comments back were that it would invalidate the warantee on the van or I might fuck it up. I'm not green round the gills and have been tinkering for a good few years and making adjustements within VCDS on Audi's. Just feels that the chaps there are a little scared of doing anything themselves and their answer to everything is send it to the dealer.

I have had a long day though and am knackered and grumpy so I might just be missing the glaringly obvious

Decided I'm just going to hand the thing back tomorrow and go back to using my car but thoughts gratfully received.
