Hey new to the forum.

Thought I'd start by asking if I should change my cambelt?, Just picked up a Ford Escort MK6 1.6 with 93K miles, It had the belt last changed at 40K miles and 6 years ago, I spoke to ford and they said it should be changed every 5 years or 80K miles apparently.

I just took it in for the free health check at Ford and it all came back basically okay except it said my alternator belt was cracking.

If anyone has some good advice I'd be happy to hear it.
