phase sensor sends a signal back to tell the ecu which pulse from the crank pulley is tdc and 90 degrees btdc (sort of reminding it where the engine is for ign timing)

make sure you have a 0.6-1mm gap on the crank pick up sensor

This is incorrect, the phase sensor is to inform the ECU the 'phasing' of the cylinders, for sequential fueling.
