My Mk1 1.6 focus
Hey guys,
I'm going to be booking my motor in for a full service etc this month as winter is upon us so want everything sorted.
I've got 2 things that i need to address and wondered if anyone's had the same issues or no what it could be.
My car is a focus 1.6 petrol on a 2003 plate.
1.) ONLY when cold within the first 5-10 minutes of driving I get what can only be described as a kangaroo effect. When I'm trying to just keep a steady speed and feather the throttle that's when it starts to bounce away down the road. This is ONLY when it's cold and once warned up its fine. when I have to wait to get out of the end of my road and the cars idling the rev counter will just bounce and rev up and down on its own a bit. This also goes away when warmed up. There's no pulling issues or misfiring going on either.
2.) I'm getting a droning/whurring noise when in nutral. This goes away when the clutch is pressed right down. Again this sounds worse when it's cold, once it's warned up its not as noticeable put still there. I had a family friend look at it as I thought it may be the clutch release bearing. He said he thinks it's more the gear box.
So any thoughts on any of these? Someone may have experienced the same issues before. The car does drive spot on apart from these with no other problems.
