Just read this thread with great interest. I am building a car where I need to find a hub to suit my vehicles dimensions rather than sourcing the correct one for a particular model.
The issue of drive shaft length and position of the hub face was one I never knew existed.
Looking at the info, I got the feeling that the consensus was that the Cosworth 4x4 hubs are narrower than the XR4x4 ones. Looking at the various images it looks to me that the Cosworth ones are wider- looking at the distance between the lower ball joint and outer hub face.
Can you guys confirm that my theory is right or wrong. Can someone put a tape measure to them?
It sort of makes sense that the Cosworth set-up would give increased track... I assume the strut angle inclination for both XR and Cos are the same?
