Thing is, did you genuinely think that it has been done as an on the books job and paid accordingly??

If so they your mate has tucked you up and pocketed the cash. Did he buy the service parts or did he just help himself from stock?

If it was a cashy job on the quiet you'd have to be pretty naive to think it was going to be recorded on the system.

I doubt the garage can do much as you can claim as far as you knew it had been serviced by the main dealer all above board, but they can I would guess get you mate in the shite, especially if he hasn't bought the parts to do it.

I wouldn't be too happy to buy a motor with full dealer history only to find out the main dealers had no record of it and it has been done cashy cash buy someone who worked at a dealer. You pay for the dealer history so that a) you know it has been done, and done correctly and b) so that if something does goes wrong, you have more chance of the dealers sorting it or offering good will.
