Default terrano clutch help

right ive got a strange one here. my father in law asked me to fit a clutch to a 52 plate 2.7td terrano which i wasnt keen on but i did anyway. got the clutch out, didnt look to bad but there was a couple of thin bits here and there. so fitted the new clutch and went for a road test and the fecking thing is still slipping

now there is a pedal return spring issue where you have to pull the pedal up from about the halfway point with your foot but thats always been like that apparently. so ive half a pedal, it clears all the gears no problem and bites good as well. drives no bother until the turbo kicks in then it slips. ive taken the slave cyclinder off and there is slack in the clutch fork, i can put the slave on by hand and its not bottomed out so am a bit baffled. ive double checked the clutch and its the right one for the car

the only thing i can see is the prop going from the transfer box to the front axle is missing so rear wheel drive only, now i know you set these in 2wd but is there now to much torque going straight to the rear as apposed to loosing some through the front transmission
