It wont be your high pressure pump. it will be your injectors, they will have high backleaks , when your cranking trying to build pressure the injectors are letting the fuel go straight out the backleak. The injectors don't actually turn on electronically till they see 240 bar . I would get your injectors out and tested at Delphi common rail specialists like Colchester fuel injection ltd that's who I work for . I bet your valves are worn to bits if its never had a fuel filter , they need changing religiously due to these valves are so easily contaminated, due to the size of the valve 2mm in diameter which move microns in miliseconds, this just shows how quick this valve moves . yo8u must use a ford or Delphi filter to as this has much smaller holes, 2 microns compared to other after market filters which can be 10 microns! which will let yall the dirt etc in to your injectors out and wearing the valve out.
