Mine will rev past 8k and its all standard apart from the exhaust and filter.
Mind you it is now noisy as fook and every bearing and lifter is knocking like a bitch.

Do I put the 1.4 back in and rebuild the 1.6 or do the zetec thing and still build the 1.6 but a turbo. Hmmm
