I was doin a job on my mates st and he asked me to look at his steering. When the wheels are straight ahead and I rock the steering from left to right there is a heavy knock. Go from lock to lock its fine. Steering is smooth apart from in the centre.

Any ideas? Are they known for steering rack issues?
