check the inlet manifold gasket ive had this very common theres 2 totally different gaskets on each side of the sandwich plate however some place list the gasket for both sides causing the wrong one to be fitted on 1 side ive had this on an rs turbo and an xr3i in the past by 2 separate garages (before I was clued up enough do do my own headgaskets) good luck
