Took the fuel filter off and drained it into a stainless steel tray and there was no bits so that means the pump is not breaking up. The diesel was black so there is a oil seal in there that is toast so the pump need to come off anyway.

Diesel tune has seen this a lot and said this could cause the problem. What needs to be removed to remove the pump ? radiator front panel ect ect ...
