Fiesta debadge guide [NO "TOOLS"]
I'm just starting my own car project on a mk6 fiesta finesse, I'd been looking at taking off the Finesse badge for a while. My main concern was the paint being unfaded underneath the badge.
My first steps to removing the badge were making sure that it was a warm day so no additional tools were needed. You could use a heat gun or a hair dryer to make this easier.
First of all get a nectar card. I recommend a nectar card as it has no raised numbers and they wont get in the way.
Get another card such as club card.
Place the clubcard slightly underneath the first letter on the left hand side but not too much that the right hand side of the letter has lost its gap. The reason for putting a card under the left hand side is just to make sure that the letters don't dig into the paint work.
Slide the nectar card under the letter from the right hand side pushing the black sticker behind the letter away from the paint work. Make sure not to just remove the letter from the black sticker as this will require further cleaning.
Slowly work the black sticker away from the paint work making sure not to push too hard to ensure that no damage is caused to the paint work. Work your way round the letter removing it from various angles if needed.
Once the lettering is removed clean the surface with a soft cloth and cotton buds to remove any left over sticky as these are gentle on the paint work. Once the left over sticky is removed use a small amount of polish on the area to give it a final clean.
I used this method on my mk6 fiesta moondust silver 54 plate and there was no difference in paint colour whatsoever. I had no scratches or dents from this method and it was incredibly easy. A lot easier than I ever imagined. This method may not work for everyone but I removed 7 letters in roughly 2 minutes with this method and it worked perfectly.
