i spose if you are doing the build yourself you take the risk if they are not up to the job of a high power build.

if someone else is doing the work for you, i think they would recomend using quality parts, so they only have to do the job once.

i dont know a thing about the rods spoke of by the OP but to go to all the effort of a rebuild and use cheaper components seems a little silly, unless the budget is so restrictive and you are doing the work yourself anyway.
