I recently purchased a Fisher Fury with a stage 3+ Cosworth engine and it is a very quick car! I did notice yesterday that it is only hitting 1 bar of boost though and traced this to the Amal valve boost solenoid thingy.
It seems the valve expects a +12V and a switched GND from pin 16 of the ECU. The good news is the valve works and the ECU is doing it's bit too. The bad news is my 12V is missing (the easiest fix thankfully).
I don't know Cossies particularly well so I'm not sure how close to a stock set up the wiring is. The wires to the Amal valve are obviously aftermarket but it quickly feeds into what I think is probably stock:
Brown/yellow = pin 16 of the ECU and black/red should be 12V I guess
This little loom goes across the fuel rail and joins the main loom where I can't trace anything without ripping out all sorts of wiring which I'd like to avoid
My questions are twofold:
1. Does anyone know in simple terms where the +12V comes from and if it is shared amongst many other components
2. Can I just steal pin 1 here :
I don't have a feel for the current draw of the valve
Thanks in advance
James
