I have a 06 plate ST2 225. From the internet Iv ordered Motorcraft new discs and pads all round. The front is sorted and the rear discs appear correct but Im struggling with the new rear pads. The ones I received are 1809259. When I went to fit them the little spigots wouldn't fit in the piston holes. The spigots on the pads are too far apart. This is the same on both sides.

Today I went to my local ford dealer and he checked the parts catalogue against my reg plate - he agrees that this is the correct part no - he even got another set out just to make sure the ones id received weren't incorrectly labelled.

Apparently the part no supersedes a variety of part nos. One of the old nos is 1753860. It just so happens that tonight I noticed on my delivery note that this was the typed number. Somebody has crossed it out and written this 1809259 number on.

When I removed the old pads I noticed that they had been fitted incorrectly with the piston pad on the outer side and the vice versa. This makes me wonder if I have the wrong calipers or something. On the N/S caliper all I can really see clearly is 987 cast in. They are ATE calipers.

Can anyone shed some light on the matter as I would prefer pads with spigots that sit snug in the piston?
