First of all please forgive me if i have posted this in the wrong place
I have a Ford Focus Zetec 55 Auto split gear box.
Just got back from holiday yesterday and wanted to use the car for shopping! My husband started the car and found we have a box flashing all the time with P.N.R.D in the the middle! and a box flashing with a - and + sign all the time! We also have an orange light staying on all the time saying Transmission Malfunction Also the fan that comes on to cool the engine comes on a few seconds after starting the car and it stays on all the time! and when putting the car in to drive or reverse the car judders! The car does drive but does not change gear it remains in the same gear.
My husband took it to an Automatic & Manual Transmission Specialist where they said they couldn't get in to it properly and it came up with code U101
They told us we need to take it to Fords and get them to reset the T.C.M,
I have booked it in with Fords for Tuesday morning! but am extremely worried this is going to cost a fortune! could anyone give me any advice or help with this problem.
