You need pats ring/ECU and and chip from the keys to reuse in your key from another escort gti otherwise you will have to change all your lock.... fuck that carefully use a small flat screwdriver to remove the tap on the key the chip looks like a house plug fuse just swap them over job done then you will not need to replace your locks
Thanks for the suggestion doga-ot, but a mate of mine has changed the locks, ignition etc on a mk6 before says it was dead easy, didn't take long and he's offered to pop over and do the whole lot for me so I don't see much point in me poncin around trying to bastardize keys
