t I was a bit hacked off when i taxed it online and it said the tax would start 1st June and not 1st May, so basically they now have an excuse to fine me for 1 month gap where it was untaxed. I'd have been quite willing to pay from 1st May, but I don't get that choice!
Why didn't you just go into the Post Office? They could have back-dated it, and you would avoid a fine.
