A 2jz is in another league to the YB. Downside is its weight and very expensive gearbox that you need to bolt behind it. All that aside I would choose a 2jz over anything, immense performance for realistically not a lot of money.
Why? The standard manual box has been proven for silly power, Jamie P was still running it the last I heard, and that's at 1200bhp.
I'd personally go Jap too, anyone that slates JAp stuff is just in denial
