this talk of oil pump failures, i had a standard 68k pump on my setup and my limiter was set to 7400rpm and i was constantly bouncing off it.
forged/steel rods/pistons, arp mains/rod bolts etc.
i would recommend getting an original oil pump in good condition, strip and clean and go from there.
