All modern Ford vehicles with fuel injection are equipped with an inertial fuel shutoff switch. It turns off the fuel pump if the vehicle is in a collision. This prevents pressurised fuel from being pumped from the fuel tank should a fuel line be ruptured / severed. The shutoff switch acts like an electrical breaker in your house by stopping the power to the fuel pump. Just like the electrical breaker in your house, the fuel pump shutoff switch can be reset. Yours looks like you press the button in the top.
