Default A dim question !

I have two Mondeo Mk3 2.0lt Diesel 130PS.
I bought the 05-Plate (LX) 18 months ago, which my Young Lady uses.
I have recently bought a 56-Plate (Titanium X) for me.

The only apparent difference between the engines is that the 56-Plate is EURO4 emmissions, but they behave differently.
Do I have a problem ?

The 05-Plate revs drop smoothly to normal tick over rates when changing gear.
The 56-Plate revs drop smoothly to normal tick over rates when stationary, but when moving; changing gear at 2,500 revs (or above)drops to just under 2,000. Changing gear at 2,000 revs drops to around 1,500.
This doesn't seem to be a problem and the car drives fine, but is it normal for the revs to sit so far above tick over between gear changes ?
