I had a 1.6 capri many years ago, loved every minute of it, Didn't handle for shit, but what a blast, especially in the wet!
The engine gave up so I stucK a 2.0 GT lump from a Cortina in there, kept knocking gearboxes out. My own fault mainly cos i couldn't get hold of 2.0 g/box so kept sticking 1.6 ones in.
Hey ho, never mind, got quite good a changing capri boxes....
Point is, you might want to think about changing the box as well
